Today, someone asked me what I think about the current hostage deal. Honestly, it’s such a complicated situation with no perfect answers. On one hand, we want to do everything possible to bring the hostages home safely. On the other hand, we have to think about the potential risks of making concessions.

What’s most important, though, is that we don’t let this divide us. Our enemies want us to fight each other, but we’re stronger when we stay united. Let’s hope and pray for the safe return of every hostage.

Remember that sourdough pizza dough and taco meat from our earlier recipes? Let's transform them into something totally new! These crispy, golden empanadas are proof that leftovers can be the start of something amazing.

Skip the takeout and raid your fridge - we're about to turn yesterday's pizza dough and taco meat into today's crave-worthy snack. The air fryer makes these extra crispy without the mess of deep frying!

Ingredients:
1. Leftover sourdough pizza dough
2. Leftover taco meat (check out our taco meat reel!)
3. Tomato sauce
4. Cooking spray

Steps:
1.Add tomato sauce to taco meat
2. Roll out pizza dough
3. Place meat in middle
4. Fold over and pinch edges with fingers
5. Seal with fork
6. Spray liberally with cooking spray
7. Air fry at 375°F for 20 minutes

Pro tip: Make sure edges are sealed well to prevent filling from escaping! 🔒

Ingredients:
1. 10-15 large onions
2. Oil
3. Salt

Steps:
1. Slice or chop onions
2. Place in baking pan
3. Add oil and salt, and mix well
4. Cover tightly with foil
5. Bake at 350°F for one hour
6. Lower to 200°F and leave overnight

🕎 Hanukkah's Golden Crown: The Perfect Crispy Latkes! ✨

Get ready to make the star of your Hanukkah table! These aren't just any latkes - the kind that'll have your family fighting over the last one. nothing beats this crispy, golden homemade beauties!

Fair warning: These disappear faster than you can say "Happy Hanukkah!" Double (or triple!) the recipe unless you want to spend the whole evening in the kitchen. Trust me on this one - you'll thank me later! 😉

Ingredients:
4 Potatoes 🥔
1/2 Onion 🧅
2 Eggs 🥚
Salt & Pepper 🧂
Oil for frying
Equipment: Grater and/or food processor

Steps:
Peel potatoes, and store in water to prevent browning
Grate half the potatoes
Process remaining potatoes and onion
Strain excess liquid (key for crispiness!)
Heat oil in a heavy pan/dutch oven
Mix in eggs, salt, and pepper
Drop mixture into hot oil with a slotted spoon
Pat gently and let sizzle
Flip when edges brown (~90 seconds)
Transfer to a cooling rack or paper towels

Pro tip: Remove as much liquid as possible! 💫

🔥 Skip the flipping, level up your latke game! Introducing: Sheet Pan BBQ Brisket Latkes
Crispy potato perfection meets melt-in-your-mouth pulled beef in this game-changing Hanukkah mashup. We’re taking the classic latke recipe, spreading it into one giant crispy sheet (hello, easy mode! 👋), then topping it with overnight-braised brisket that’s been lovingly slow-cooked in beer (or Dr. Pepper if you’re feeling adventurous 😉).
Cut into perfect squares and topped with that tender, saucy beef - every bite hits different. Traditional meets modern, crispy meets tender. Trust me, your bubbe never made them like this!
FULL RECIPE ⬇️
For the Brisket:

1 second-cut brisket
Trader Joe’s Coffee Rub (or your favorite rub)
beer or Dr. Pepper (enough to cover)
Your favorite BBQ sauce (we love Bone Suckin’ Sauce)

Instructions:

Rub brisket generously with coffee rub
Place in pan, cover with beer/Dr. Pepper
Cover tightly with foil
Bake at 225°F for 8-10 hours (overnight)
Remove from liquid and Shred meat, mix with BBQ sauce + some cooking liquid

Sheet Pan Latkes:

4 potatoes
1/2 onion
2 eggs
Salt & pepper
Oil for pan

Instructions:

Peel potatoes, keep in water
Grate half, process rest with onion
Oil pan generously and heat in oven at 425°F
Strain ALL liquid (key for crispiness!)
Mix with eggs, salt, pepper

Spread mixture evenly
Bake at 425°F until golden & crispy
Broil for the last minute or 2

Cut into squares
Top with hot brisket just before serving
